CreveTope shrimp farm technology is the most promising new method for environment friendly closed shrimp farm production system in the world, in this system you can farm shrimp in high densities in smaller surroundings with year round production!
“CreveTope” the ultra-intensive culture of shrimps without the use of new water through a biological treatment of aerobic and heterotrophic, also called bio-floc technology. Once established it bring down the production costs with 20 % and lower the Feeding conversion rate!
Due to the almost zero exchange and usage of water, which represents a reduction in the emission of effluents and consequently reduces the environmental impact, the application of these systems meets the growing aquaculture concepts of a responsible, sustainable and environmentally shrimp farming method.
The CreveTope system is equipped with an advanced bioreactor, which increases the flexibility of water quality management. Addition of chemicals for pH adjustment is not necessary and nitrate levels are controlled. Excess bio-flocs can be removed without special equipment.
The advanced utilisation and control of bio-flocs not only reduces the environmental impact, but also enables nutrient recycling into new protein biomass, as additional nutrition for the shrimp, resulting in faster growth and reduced FCR. When covered with a building or greenhouse this system provides the only good option for a bio secure shrimp farm. This will also give the farmer outside the Eu greater access to markets with stringent safety standards.
We are specialized in these systems and can help you with design and constructing of these systems. Thanks to the re-use of water, our system can be build anywhere in the world, in the tropics, in temperate climates, in the desert, cities, in buildings, former pig and chicken sheds, mushroom cells and in greenhouses.

We construct our system with long life non corrosive sustainable materials such as HDPE tanks, stainless steel, PVC etc. The CreveTope system is equipped with the following components:
HDPE nursery tanks HDPE grow out tanks, HDPE Bio-floc reactors, control systems, blowers, bottom aeration with AERO- TUBE, belt feeding systems, substrates, pumps, valves and harvest valve.
Our system is easy to handle and manage and has low operational costs.
We design the CreveTope system to the specific needs of the customer and the farmed shrimp species.
The advantage of the CreveTope shrimp system:
- Higher shrimp per m3 volume water
- Location and climate independent
- Whole year climate independent production
- Lower feed conversion ratio
- Higher bio-security
- Higher survival rate
- Zero water exchange
- Possiblity of partial harvests enables sales of fresh shrimp for local market
- More crops per year
- Whole year locally produced fresh shrimp

For ultra-intensive farming (up to 10 kg m3) we have developed together with Crevetec a Bio-floc reactor. The aim of this reactor is to better control water quality through a faste conversion of shrimp waste into bio-flocs.
In a bio-floc reactor micro organisms are maintained in suspension where they form flocs. Organic material and nutrients are adsorbed and or assimilated by the microbial flocs as they move about in the water. For example, ammoni-ntrogen can be assimilated by heterotrophic bacteria to form proteins. The reactor design is very simple and is very easy to operate. The Application of the bio-floc reactor technology for ultra-intensive shrimp production is an attractive alternative to various methods currently used in shrimp farming. The timing of different steps in the reactor also enables to include a denitrification step, which controls the maximum nitrate level and pH. No addition of chemicals or sodium bicarbonate is necessary.
Microbial flocs can be wasted from the reactor to control the flocs in the system and it helps also to stabilize the microbial floc population. Treating shrimp effluent to produce microbial flocs is a means of recycling nutrients in wastewater, while providing an additional sustainability environment friendly shrimp culture. The reactor also has a positive effect on the sludge volume reduction; finely tuning this approach could potentially save money by increasing water reuse, decreasing sewer discharge, and decreasing the amount of commercial feed required. The reactor has low capital and operating costs, minimum daily maintenance, and flexibility of the system to operate aerobically or anaerobically.
